The Dance 12 x 12

The online SAQA 2013 Benefit Auction began on Monday, September 9th   and concludes on Sunday, September 29 at 2:00 PM Eastern.

SAQA’s Benefit Auction supports SAQA’s exhibition program – during 2013 ten exhibitions of SAQA member work traveled to Australia, Canada, England, France, Gabon, Italy, South Africa, and seventeen states across the U.S.  They were displayed in 8 museums and 19 major quilt festivals and were seen by several hundred thousand visitors, many of whom had never seen an art quilt before.

How the Online Auction works:

The Auction is run in three sections (Section 1 – Pages 1a and 1b; Section 2 – Pages 2a and 2b; Section 3 – Pages 3a and 3b).

On the first day of each section’s auction, the price for each piece in that section is $750. The next day (at 2:00 Eastern), the price drops to $550. The third day, it drops to $350, then $250, then $150, and finally $75.

Help support the art quilt movement by bidding on your favorite great piece of art in SAQA’s Benefit Auction!

Some of the pieces, including “The Dance” will be auctioned at the International Quilt Festival in Houston with on-line and in-person bidding.
