Artist Day at the Lavender Farm

It was a perfectly gorgeous summer day for the artist day at the farm.  Most of the artists painted in the gardens.  I worked on hemming the facing on the “tall story” tree.  fencePeople came by and visited with us.  At 2:30 we gathered under the maple trees at beautifully set tables for a “Devonshire Tea” that featured scones, Devonshire cream, strawberry jam and lemon custard served with a delicious tea.  After tea the artists were invited to introduce themselves and talk about their art.

I was thrilled that the owner of the farm purchased the piece with the blue chair.  She told me why the chair and the arbor have a special meaning for her.

It’s always so very special when you learn what prompted someone to buy a piece of your work. Lovely day; lovely ending to it, too. 🙂
